Is Grandma Pizza from New York Worth Ordering at $30 each?
Usually when you think frozen pizza you think premade pizza that comes in a box and often times it's not very much. Maybe $5 or $10 for the good ones. The ones I often get are 3 pizzas for $10. But would you order 3 frozen pizzas for $90? I did and I don't regret it.
I love to travel and try regional food. The type of food that doesn't exist outside of specific areas. When I can't do that I turn to order food from sites like Goldbelly to have food shipped to me. Yes, it comes at a premium but, to me, it's worth it.
I've gotten pizza from Goldbelly in the past and figured I'd try something that was rated pretty high. This is Washington Square's Grandma Pizza from Loring, New York. These are rectangle pizzas, square cut as needed, and full of flavor.
They talk about how everything is sourced near them or made in-house from the dough to the pepperoni. There's a few to choose from. The OG which is your basic pizza but with all these fresh ingredients nothing from this place is 'basic'.
The idea is these are made fresh, then shipped overnight (for free) so you get the best experience outside of flying to New York to try these in person. Easy to follow baking instructions and prep as needed. This OG pizza in the photo was to bake in the oven, then finish with olive oil and parmesan which was also included. It was wonderful! I'm looking forward to trying the meat lovers next time. There's also a mushroom one that, good news for me, not as many people at my place are gung-ho about mushrooms so feel my woe as I'll probably eat the entire pizza myself. Maybe in one sitting, we'll see.
This isn't sponsored or endorsed but a look into my life and the type of stuff I do for fun. And when fun is food, it's very fun.
You can find Grandma Pizza on Goldbelly. Free shipping! Gotta love that.
