Popular Beachy Themed Restaurant Permanently Closing Its Last Remaining Location in WA

If you love the Bahama Breeze restaurant in Tukwila, you've only got a couple more months to enjoy their food before it permanently closes.

The company that owns Bahama Breeze, Darden Restaurants, says in a PR Newswire media release that they are ceasing operations of the Southcenter Mall location in early April. (Darden Restaurants also The Capital Grille, Olive Garden, Ruth's Chris Steakhouse, and Yard House restaurants, which are also found here in Washington State.)

Many customers (like me) are shocked the restaurant is permanently closing because it always seems so packed whenever I try to go there.

Fans on Reddit are stunned about the news, too, although Darden Restaurants had previously mentioned that Bahama Breeze restaurants were on the chopping block in an effort of consolidating or closing their least profitable brands.

Caribbean Jerk Chicken, fish tacos, Island Snapper entree, and the crab & 3-cheese dip--those are some of the dishes that fans will miss the most. I guess we better break out the cookbooks so that we can make our own DIY versions of these at home!

🍹Why We Loved Going to Bahama Breeze

One former foodie said that the restaurant vibe at Bahama Breeze was good for, “I’m not from here, but I want conch fritters to remind me of my honeymoon, but I’m too tired and sweaty and generally disgusting from carrying the kids around all day..." I concur, my friend, I concur!

I'm going to miss their crunchy coconut shrimp and their tall and tasty "Virgin Bahamaritas."

The last day to enjoy food and drinks at Bahama Breeze in Tukwila (15700 Southcenter Pkwy) will be April 5, 2026.

The Seattle Post Intelligencer noted that customers have been going to Bahama Breeze for a quick escape with an island atmosphere near Southcenter Mall since May 2003.
