I-90 Traffic Stop Leads WSP Trooper Cadet & K-9 to Huge Drug Bust

On August 4, 2020 the Washington State Patrol reports a trooper cadet and his training officer pulled over a vehicle for following too closely on Interstate 90 eastbound near the State Route 18 interchange.

During the stop, the driver of the pulled-over vehicle appeared to be extremely nervous, (tweaker be trippin'?), so the training officer asked for consent to search the vehicle.

Once consent was granted, a narcotics detection K-9 dog was brought to the scene by an officer from the nearby Snoqualmie-North Bend detachment.

The woofer found a lunch box behind the driver's seat that was stuffed with 10 pounds of fentanyl with an estimated street value of $6.4 million, and two pounds of heroin valued at $75,000.

The driver was taken into custody after the illegal drugs were seized.
