Rich Austin with the Yakima Sports Commission joins News Talk Kit to talk about a new racing series at the SOZO Sports Complex.  The Coronavirus has shut down so many opportunities for organized activities  that it's good to see there are still some fun, active and organized event in which to participate in the Yakima Valley.

First up is the Yakima Super Five K and it is set for this coming Saturday May 8.  The "super" in Super Five K doesn't stand for the level of difficulty.  In fact is stands for the level of family fun as participants are encouraged to dress up like their favorite Super Hero or even their Favorite Super Villain. (the Super Villain is voted most likely to cheat in the race!  [just kidding!] )

The race course is contained within the SOZO complex and runner will have no problem finding their way along the race.

First responders are being honored with a 50% discount on registration which is a solid idea.

Other events to come includes the Bubbles and Brews 21 and over event.  Participants can run the five K race and then taste wine and beers..OR...You could bypass the race and move directly to the tasting phase.

The series culminates in July with an obstacle race they are calling Mud, Sweat & Beers.  Austin says it's kind of a "Pirates Plunder-light" kind of event.  With Multiple divisions ,this event will be open to the entire family as well.

Austin says they will follow whatever the COVID guidelines are at the time of each race and for more information you are encouraged to contact the SOZO racing series dot com.
