Humor in the midst of crises. Awesome. You gotta love the men and women of the thin blue line. Check out the tongue-in-cheek message the Puyallup Police Department (PPD) recently posted for the criminal community on the PPD Facebook page!

Due to local cases of #COVID-19, PPD is asking all criminal activities and nefarious behavior to cease. We appreciate your anticipated cooperation in halting crime & thank all the criminals in advance. We will certainly let you know when you can resume your normal criminal behavior.

The department followed the post up with until then wash your hands and behave yourself.

Well played, PPD! Some criminals will no doubt follow the directive (sheesh!) while most others will not, but rest assured: PPD officers will be doing all they can to keep the community safe from crooks, scammers, bad guys and bozos while the coronavirus  threat plays out.

Criminals need to keep in mind the crowded nature of jails and prisons (ripe for coronavirus attack) and alter their "nefarious" behavior accordingly!

The Monday post has generated 1,100 comments and 24,000 shares so far! Everybody appreciates the humor. A subsequent post reminded folks to lock their vehicles and remove all valuables, including toilet paper!

PPD brings the laughs along with the cuffs and the long arm of the law!
