YPAL Is In Need Of A Baseball Coach For The Summer

My daughter, Willow, just signed up for a summer membership to the Yakima Police Athletic League (better known in town as YPAL).

The membership fee for Yakima residents is $20 a year ($25 for non-residents), and she loves going there because of the many activities they offer, especially the Tae Kwan Do class that is offered every Tuesday and Wednesday from 2:30-4:30.

The YPAL summer program is geared for children enrolled in grades Kindergarten thru the 12th grade. Beginning July 9th, the YPAL Summer Program officially begins. There will be field trips, swimming at Franklin Pool, free lunches and snacks, boxing, karate and reading in the library, recently renovated by the Downtown Rotary Club. YPAL is currently seeking a baseball coach (or baseball parent) who can corral up the kids to form a team for the summer. The volunteer position begins July 9th and ends around August 13th, and you must pass a background check. The baseball team is open to area youth who are enrolled in the summer program at YPAL, and at the end of the season, the team will take on the kids enrolled in the summer day camp at the Henry Beauchamp Community Center for a fun "rivalry" baseball game and picnic.
