On Saturday (May 5) the Yakama Nation Victim Resource Program, in association with Behavioral Health Services, presents REDgalia -- the march for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women. The keynote speak will be Roxanne White.

From Canada to the United States,The Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women (MMIW) is a movement and organization that brings awareness for Indigenous women who go missing on reservations across the country. In many cases when an Indigenous woman goes missing, they don't ever come back home.

A lot of these cases go unsolved. In recent years, there have been too many cases on the Yakama Nation. These women are someone's mother, daughter, niece, granddaughter or close friend. And unfortunately, I knew one of these young ladies who went missing, but never came home.

Registration starts at 9 a.m. The rally begins at 10 a.m.

Start Location
Old Timers Plaza in Toppenish
Second and South Division Street

End Location
Yakama Nation Tribal School
601 Linden St.
