Yakima Valley College will offer Flagger Certification Training starting in May, and it could be a chance for you to start a new career. And good news: It’s a one-day training session.

A news release from the college says the training will take place on Friday, May 19, from 8 a.m.- 4 p.m. at YVC’s Yakima campus -- in the Skills Center, Building 32, Room 106.

The training provides certification for work zone traffic control flaggers.

The tuition fee of $45 allows participants to receive a flagger handbook, classroom instruction and the opportunity to take the Washington state certification exam.

If you are interested, you must register and pay in advance. You can sign up at YVC’s registration office in Yakima or Grandview or by contacting the Career Connection Center at (509) 574-4979 or cmosebar@yvcc.edu.

Students are required to bring a copy of their receipt to the training session.
