The spirit of Santa is bringing better access to healthcare to the lower Yakima Valley.  The folks in the fur-trimmed red hats are the people at Virginia Mason Memorial who announced the opening of the new Lower Valley Specialty Center bringing high quality specialty care to patients closer to their homes.

The service reality is that between 14 and 17 percent of Virginia Mason Memorial’s specialty care patients have been traveling from the Lower Valley to Yakima to receive care, so Virginia Mason Memorial decided to bring the care to them by opening the Lower Valley Specialty Center.

Services include cardiovascular, orthopedics, infusion care, oncology/hematology, vascular, pulmonology, urology, pain, wound care, sleep, lab services and X-ray.

The Lower Valley Center is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday at 1812 E. Edison Ave., Sunnyside with a staff chosen to support the Latino community with bilingual speakers ready to help all patients.
