After teasing a major announcement yesterday afternoon, WB Interactive and TT Games officially revealed Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens this morning with a new trailer, showing there were still plenty of jokes to make at the Force's expense. While the film version of Star Wars: The Force Awakens was decades in the making, the wait for a new Lego Star Wars video game has been nearly as long. It's been five years since TT Games last visited the brick galaxy far, far away, and while it's not quite a 30-year wait to see how the Skywalker saga would continue, the gaming landscape has changed pretty drastically since Lego Star Wars: The Clone Wars hit shelves.

TT Games has been incredibly busy with the Lego franchise over the course of the last half-decade, developing a dozen different licensed Lego games, including the recently released Lego Marvel's Avengers and Lego Dimensions. If that seems like a lot of games for one developer to tackle, you'd be right. However, that hasn't stopped the Lego series from continuing to adapt the biggest blockbusters into humorous adventures of brick-sized proportions.

As you can see in the new trailer above, TT Games will be yucking it up with characters like Rey, Finn, BB-8 and Kylo Ren. If you thought all the possible jokes you could make about the Star Wars universe had been made, clearly there's still a little bit of gas left in the tank. While brief, the announcement trailer does follow closely with the original teaser trailer for the film, poking fun at moments like the "awakening," Poe's attack run on Takodana, and Kylo Ren's inability to keep calm and carry on.

TT Games won't just be relying on the same old formula again, though the familiar foundation of the Lego series will no doubt still be present. New Multi-Builds will be added to allow players multiple building options to advance through the game's levels and story. Additionally, Blaster Battles will make their debut, and will allow you to use the environment to "drive back the First Order." Without seeing either of those new features in action, it's a little hard to say just what all of that means, but at least TT will be iterating on the formula that's gotten them this far.

It's also worth noting the game promises "untold story content exploring new details about the movie and its characters." While it's unlikely these story elements will be anything significant, a lot of scenes and segments that were filmed were cut from the final movie, so perhaps all the Constable Zuvio fans out there will finally have reason to be excited again. The PlayStation versions of Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens will also get two exclusive add-ons, the Droid Character Pack and the Phantom Limb Level Pack. There are no details about either at the moment, but you can guess what that Phantom Limb might refer to.

Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens will be available on June 28 on the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, PS Vita, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Nintendo 3DS, Wii U and PC.
