At 13 years of age, Edgar -- who suffers from cerebral palsy -- knows a little something about miracles. Shortly after his birth in California, a seizure put him in a coma from which doctors feared he would never awaken. They recommended he be removed from life support.

But as his mom explains in the video above, Edgar's family didn't give up on him.

At age 3, after the family moved to Yakima, he started receiving services from Children's Village.

Today he's in speech therapy and he's learning to use an eye gaze device to allow him to communicate. In short, he's being given a voice.

And he's using it to advocate for Children's Miracle Network's Radiothon this Friday (Oct. 26). We'll be on the air asking for donations for 12 straight hours -- from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., and we're counting on whatever help you can give.

Call us at 965-2515 to help out -- or donate online to Children's Miracle Network here. You can even text "KIT Cares" to 51555 on your phone.

Standard Paint & Flooring is again sponsoring the annual Radiothon -- along with Morgan Stanley, Yakima Steak Company, Wilson Irrigation, Key Bank, Steve Hahn Auto Group, Hendo's Accessories, Canopy Country, Stein's Ace Hardware, Stewart Subaru, Wildflower Stylehouse, Chinook Fest, Yakima Sports Center, Pet Pantry and Yakima Federal Savings.
