Alec Baldwin Says He’ll ‘Probably’ Return to ‘SNL’ as Donald Trump
Let the mean mugging continue — Alec Baldwin says there's a very good chance he'll resurrect his role as Donald Trump when Saturday Night Live returns this fall, which means a whole lot more tweeting, winning and — very likely — visits from the Grim Reaper/Steve Bannon.
Baldwin told CNN in a new interview that he's learning toward extending his SNL tenure, though it might see a bit of an adjustment.
“Probably, a little bit of that, there'll be a couple of celery sticks of that every now and again," he said. "Not a whole meal, maybe."
"I got a lot of things I'm gonna do this fall — little things that I'm working on — and we'll probably do some Trump," he added more clearly. "We’re going to fit that in, I think people have enjoyed it."
"The maliciousness of this White House has people very worried," he said. "That's why I'm not going to do it much longer, the [impersonation]. I don't [know] how much more people can take it."
He also told The British Press Association in March: “I don’t quite know if people want to continue with that. If everything stays the same in the country as it is now, I don’t think people will be in the mood to laugh about it come September.”
