**Global feed production is at an all-time high. In the 2019 Global Feed Survey, Alltech estimates a strong 3% growth to 1.068 billion metric tons of feed produced.

Agweb.com reports, This is the third consecutive year the survey exceeded the billion-ton production mark.

Dr. Mark Lyons says the feed industry has seen 14.6% growth over the past five years. He says as the population grows, so does the middle class, which is well reflected in an increase in overall protein consumption.

**Breaking down the numbers, the Congressional Budget Office projects the 2018 Farm Bill will mandate spending of $428 billion dollars over the next 5 fiscal years.

According to agrimarketling.com, 76% of the spending will fund nutrition programs, with most going to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program.

Crop insurance, farm commodity programs, and conservation programs account for nearly all of the remaining outlays.

Approximately 0.8 percent will fund other programs including trade, credit, rural development, research and extension, and horticulture.

**Exports of U.S. ethanol could hit a record 4 billion gallons a year in 2020.

That’s according to Mike Dwyer, chief economist for the U.S. Grains Council.

As reported in agriculture.com, if the U.S. ethanol industry exports a total 4 billion gallons in 2020, it would more than double the current record of 1.62 billion gallons of ethanol exports set during the 2017-2018 marketing year when U.S. ethanol was exported to 74 countries.
