While I was growing up, my mom used to give me a bath before I went to sleep. As I got older she used to tell me that I needed to shower so I'd be clean when I got in my sheets. When I had my child my mom finally told me the truth -- that taking a bath or a shower helps soothe the savage beast. Ha! I wasn't that crazy. But she's right, water truly does calm a person. That has not changed, long after I've grown up. A recent study that probably cost a ton of money confirms it, though all they had to do was ask my mom. The study proves that my mother was, in fact, right.

Taking a shower before you go to bed will soothe you and help you fall asleep. It's interesting that the exact same thing in the morning wakes you up and gets you moving.  Although you're using a lot of water, it improves the way you think every day.

I shower morning and night, and it does calm me. It is a practice that I had forgotten for years until most recently. I've have had so much happen in my life in the past eight months that I sat down near a river and thought to myself, 'What would my mom do?' She would have said for me to take a nice hot bath and relax.

Do you take showers in the morning and at night? Trust me! It works.

Take the poll and let us know.
