Parishioners got an unexpected dose of Thug Life during their Christmas service after some of 2Pac's lyrics wound up in a book of Christmas carols and prayers. The little mix-up occurred at a Sri Lankan holiday festival called "Joy to the World: A Festival of Music and Harmony."

The event featured musical performances and was held December 11 in Colombo, Sri Lanka, was a fundraiser meant to help with “poverty alleviation projects." The booklet was supposed to feature the traditional prayer to the Virgin Mary; but instead the Pac lyrics were published inside.

"Hail Mary" was a popular single from 2Pac that was released 20 years ago, just after 2Pac was murdered at age 25. The anniversary of Don Killuminati: The 7-Day Theory--the album from which "Hail Mary" came--was recognized in November.

Last week, 2Pac was announced as a 2017 inductee into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. He joins Grandmaster Flash & the Furious Five, Run-DMC, Public Enemy and the Beastie Boys as the hip-hop acts who have been inducted into the Hall thus far.
